Teri Rocco is a 55 year Garden Grove resident, former GGUSD teacher and retired administrator, and a product herself of Garden Grove Unified schools. She attended Wakeham Elementary, Alamitos Intermediate, and Pacifica High School. Her children all attended GGUSD schools and her grandchildren also currently attend school in the district.

Before serving on the GGUSD school board, Teri had 42 years of classroom and leadership experience, starting her career as a bilingual instructional aid, assisting teachers, and supporting English learners. She was a teacher at Russell Elementary, but also taught parent education and English classes and facilitated meetings with the local police department. Teri has spent her career as a parent and community advocate, always working to ensure parent input in our school’s and their child’s education.

As a GGUSD administrator, Teri continued her work in education leadership and created lasting partnerships with community agencies that provide services and programs for parents, implementing quality parent education programs and organizing community outreach meetings.

As a 2-term GGUSD School Board Trustee, Teri has always put students first, ensuring that every child has the resources for a quality education while continuing her outreach efforts and staying active in the community, visiting school sites, and meeting parents and local leaders. Since her election, GGUSD has maintained itself as a top district nationwide and consistently been a leader in student safety and wellness and academic achievement with all 7 high schools earning top spots in the US News and World Reports elite rankings of America’s Best High Schools.
